Economic justification for the recovery of military parts

Document Type : Scientific Paper

Abstract

The growing need of the military industry for spare parts on the one hand and the waste of worn-out parts on the other hand, makes it necessary to recover. The main condition for the capability of a method in recovering a part is that it is at least technically feared for the mechanical properties of the damaged part or the loss of properties can be ignored. The recovery method should be able to restore or improve the part in terms of efficiency. Another issue is the economics of the process, the cost of recovering the part must be reasonably low. If the cost of recovery is high for a piece, it can be justified if the issue of urgency is important or if the efficiency and longevity of the part is increased. Metal spraying, welding, local plating, and the use of epoxy materials are more common because they are less complex and cheaper than other scaling methods. This paper discusses the technical and economic recovery processes and provides practical examples with economic analysis. According to the experiences, studies and studies, the recovery of military parts is technically and economically justifiable.
