Designing a fuzzy expert system to predict vehicle downtime

Document Type : Applied Article

Abstract

Expert systems are a good tool for solving problems solved by experts and there is no structured way to solve them. In this paper, a fuzzy expert system is proposed to predict the times of reconstruction and scrapping of vehicles. This system can predict the time of reconstruction and demolition of cars by receiving the necessary information about a car and using its knowledge base. The proposed system is written in CLIPS and uses the knowledge and experience of several experts to create a knowledge base that includes the factors that affect the time of reconstruction and demolition of cars, as well as the rules related to them. Because the designer must be familiar with the specific commands of the language in order to create an expert system in CLIPS, the software is designed to allow the user to generate an expert system without knowing the CLIPS language. Also, by removing knowledge from the knowledge base of this software, it can be used to produce expert systems in various fields
