This study investigated the effects of the coronavirus on the structure of the food supply chain. In this regard, using a multiple case study method, the effects of this pandemic on the supply, transportation, and inventory management systems of five large food production companies in Iran were examined, and the results were analyzed and ranked using content analysis tools and statistical tests. This study, while analyzing the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on food supply chain management, provides solutions for improving the management of this chain in critical situations. The research results were classified into 15 key propositions and tested using a single-sample t-test, and 11 propositions were confirmed and four propositions were rejected. Accordingly, the results show that the coronavirus pandemic has caused significant changes in the supply chain, and its management requirements and methods; Among them are the need to increase supply chain transparency, reduce the number of layers in the chain, invest more in product transportation, review the product portfolio, and increase the level of available liquidity to manage chain risk in crisis situations.
