Vendor-managed inventory (VMI) is one of the modern approaches in the field of supply chain management (SCM). The objective of VMI is to establish a long-term relationship between retailers and their vendors. A necessary component of this long-term relationship is selecting retailers who can meet the most criteria from the vendor's perspective and have a significant level of reliability. In this paper, a two-tier supply chain with multiple retailers and multiple vendors is developed using a combination of multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods and multi-objective programming under a VMI policy. The developed model ensures that each retailer can only participate with one vendor in order to establish a long-term relationship and reduce supply chain costs. The objective of this study is generally to minimize costs, increase the reliability of retailers, and select retailers who have relative prominence compared to other retailers. To achieve these objectives, an analysis hierarchical process (AHP) approach has been conducted for each vendor, and the weights of the retailers have been calculated relative to the vendors. Then, the obtained weights were entered into the three-objective model designed based on a combination of qualitative and quantitative criteria for selecting retailers in VMI policy. The proposed model can find a combination of the best retailers by balancing the criteria. To maintain a long-term relationship between the vendor and retailers, it is advisable for the vendor to consider important criteria that are essential in selecting retailers.
